  • Is Jr Hoops a club team?

    No, Jr Hoops only hosts seasonal leagues and camps. We don’t have club/travel teams.

  • What's the difference between clubs and leagues?

    The main difference is that leagues provide in-house games. This means Jr Hoops teams vs Jr Hoops teams.

    Jr Hoops teams don’t travel to tournaments but, rather, play local games within the Jr Hoops League.

  • What's difference between Jr Hoops and LA Select?

    There are two main differences:

    Competition Level - LA Select is meant for advanced players while Jr Hoops is meant for beginner/intermediate players.
    Club vs League - LA Select is an AAU club while Jr Hoops is mainly known for its Jr Hoops League. Clubs travel and participate in outside tournaments/shootouts/circuits, while leagues feature in-house local games.

League - FAQ

  • How many practices per week?

    Our teams practice 2 times per week.

  • Where do your teams practice?

    We’re based out of Glendale so we try to keep our practices in a close proximity to Glendale.

    Gyms that we host practices include (but not limited to):

    Academy USA - 1219 Los Angeles St, Glendale, CA 91204
    Pacific Community Center - 501 S Pacific Ave, Glendale, CA 91204
    Maple Park Community Center - 820 E Maple St, Glendale, CA 91205

  • How many games?

    Our league features 7-8 games per season.

  • How many seasons does your league have?

    We currently have four seasons: Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer

  • Are tryouts required?

    No, Jr Hoops is open to all skill levels. We only require an evaluation session to help us place players on appropriate teams.

  • Does your league have an off-season?

    Yes, our leagues are 2 months in duration with a 1 month off-season in between seasons.

  • Can I still join if I missed the evaluation?

    Yes, we usually have multiple makeup session. Try your best to attend a makeup session but if you’re still unable to attend, we’ll accommodate.

  • How many players per team?

    We have 7-12 players per team.

  • Do you have girls only divisions?

    Currently, we don’t but we definitely plan on adding girls divisions in the near future.

  • When do your teams practice?

    Our teams practice 4-9pm on weekdays and 12-4pm on Sundays.

  • Can I request a practice day/time?

    Please let us know what works and we’ll try our best to accommodate. Unfortunately, we can’t guarantee any requests.

  • Can my child play on the same team as his/her friend?

    We can try our best but we can’t guarantee it. One reason that request can be denied can be due to the skill level of the players. We take pride in making sure our league is well balanced.
